Obituary of Marjorie Inez Adcock

Marjorie Hawley Adcock, 90, passed away on September 29, 2023, after an extended illness. Marjorie was the first of four children born to the late Murray B. Hawley and Murlene Moore Hawley on April 10,1933 in Dunn, NC. In 1952, Marjorie married Alfred Dotson Adcock and they were blessed with 69 years together. She worked at Esso and then Southern Overseas Corp for 35+ years in accounting. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Alfred in 2021, and her brothers Eugene, Forrest and Elton Hawley. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki A. Massey (Vernon) and Heidi A. Cline and grandson Ethan Andrew Massey, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Services are private under the direction of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, Charlotte, NC.
