Obituary of James E. Burnette

James E. Burnette, born November 18, 1957, age 65 of Charlotte, passed away September 24, 2023. Born in Lumberton, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Girvin Burnette and Stella Jones Burnette. James is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Vivian Jacobs Burnette; children, Jordan Burnette (Karla), Jacob Burnette (Brittany) and one grandson Kaleb. All of Charlotte, NC. Two sisters, Cathy Smith (Rick) of Shannon, NC, Christine Gray (Tom) of Hope Mills, NC. Two brothers, Jon Burnette of Dallas, TX, and Stacy Burnette of Cary, NC and many more loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm in the funeral home Chapel. Interment will follow at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville, NC.
