Obituary of Anne Medearis

Annie Troxler Medearis passed away peacefully at age 95 in Charlotte,

North Carolina under the care of Hospice at Southminster Retirement Community. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Sankie Boston and Ida Jane Troxler. She was raised in the farming community of Brown Summit, N.C and was the youngest and only girl with four older brothers. Anne was married to her husband Clyde for over 65 years until his passing in 2016. They were owners of Clyde’s Furniture and Jewelry, a retail store established in 1947 in Dilworth, and worked together for over 49 years. In addition, they were commercial real estate developers in the Dilworth community.

Anne was a true matriarch and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their lake and beach houses. She was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist church where she volunteered and enjoyed playing the piano during the children’s Sunday School classes. She was also formally active in the Charlotte Power Squadron and Charlotte Junior League. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, friends and with church mission groups.

Family was very important to Anne. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Lewis and husband Russ, as well as her son Alan Medearis and wife Becky. She was blessed with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers and their spouses.

A Prayer Service for Anne will be held at 11:30 on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the chapel at Southminster, 8919 Park Road, Charlotte N.C. 28210
