Obituary of Rickey Lee Martin

Rick Martin, 71, of Belmont, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clyde Martin and wife Jean and Mary Wooten and husband Bill. Rick was an avid gardener and had many other hobbies which included bowling, golf, fishing, and riding his Shovelhead. He was a beloved Daddy and Pawpaw and loved cooking for and spending time with his family most of all. Rick is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Brian Bryson; Son and daughter-in-law Chris and Rebecca White; Sister and brother-in-law Mary and John Smolka; Brothers Terry Martin and Jimmy Martin; grandchildren Jeffrey (Chelsea) White; Destiny White, Shanna (Travis) Lewis, Zeke Martin; 13 great-grandchildren; an abundance of nieces and nephews; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by brothers Gene Martin, Danny Martin, and Clyde Martin, Jr. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
