Obituary of Zola Beth Moore

Zola Moore passed away peacefully at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in the early hours of October 30, 2022. She was 89 years old. Even though Zola was born the youngest of six and raised in Clay County (Dickens) Iowa, to Wayne and Sarah Hott, she called Charlotte home, having lived here since 1954. She worked as an Executive Assistant for State Farm Insurance from 1955 until 1995. She traveled extensively with her husband, Bob, and also enjoyed bowling, waterskiing and playing bridge. She was an excellent cook and hosted holiday celebrations and Sunday dinners for her family throughout her life. She is survived by her eldest sister, Shirley Peterson of Colorado; step-daughters Debby Alphin and her husband Steele of Atlanta; Susan Sherrill and her husband Don of Charlotte; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Visiting Angels for their care during these last few months, and the exceptional nurses at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. There will be a private interment at Sharon Memorial at a later date. Hankins and Wittington is serving the family.
