Obituary of Edgar D. Tan

It is with broken hearts that we share that our beloved Papa, Edgar Tan, peacefully entered the presence of our Lord last Sunday night, September 25. After years of battling kidney and heart diseases, and most recently cancer, he passed away surrounded by his family at our home in Charlotte, NC. He was 69. Papa was fun to hang around with, adventurous and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and swimming. He loved to cook for his family and to spend time with his kids, grandchildren and we will surely miss his tight and warm hugs and kisses. He taught us invaluable life lessons and imparted wisdom. We felt secure and protected when he was around. He was steadfast in his principles. He was very resourceful, an all-around handyman. He spent most of his career serving as a state auditor in the Philippines. He leaves behind his spouse of 39 years, Adele, his three children: Edson, Ara, and Ysa. His grandchildren, Roey, Milo, and Evee. There are no words to express the deep sorrow we feel now, but we rest in the blessed assurance he has with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
