Obituary of Sue Evelyn Dorsett

Sue Evelyn Arnold Dorsett, 86, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Born Wednesday, December 11, 1935, in Anton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Calvin Arnold and Geneva Estelle Brown Arnold. Sue Evelyn was a talented pianist and met her husband to be, James, during a citywide revival in Sumter, SC where she accompanied him on the piano while he sang a solo. They were married on July 2, 1961 and moved to Lexington, KY where together they raised two beautiful children. Sue Evelyn is survived by her loving children: Mark Arnold Dorsett and his wife, Heidi Helms Dorsett, and Lea Evelyn Dorsett Tatich and her husband, David Philip Tatich; four grandsons: Walker Hoyte Dorsett, Jacob Helms Dorsett, Kyle Austin Tatich, and Grant Louis Tatich; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, Sue Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Vernon Dorsett. A celebration of Sue Evelyn's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Providence Baptist Church, 4921 Randolph Road Charlotte, NC with a reception to follow.
