December 20, 1924 – June 24, 2022

 

Lois Bernice (Johnson) Laurion, 97, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away in her home on June 24, 2022. Born December 20, 1924, in Ashland, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Chris and Elizabeth (Steiger) Johnson.

Lois enjoyed watching Chicago Bulls basketball games and home renovation shows on HGTV. Her favorite renovation show was ‘Escape to the Chateau’. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles with her daughter during their afternoon visits together. She always looked forward to lunch on Friday afternoons with her granddaughter, Michele. She did a lot of reading, mostly murder mystery themed books. She liked watching all The Minion cartoon movies and collecting the associated Minion toy characters. She was known for her eclectic tennis shoe collection.

Lois is survived by her sister, Jeanne Beirl of Ashland, Wisconsin; four children: Dennis Laurion (Bonnie Kaniewski), Duluth MN, Steven Laurion (Pam Bugbee), Menomonee Falls WI, Ken Laurion (Kim Voelker), Belleville IL, and Tricia Laurion (Terri Rhodes), Charlotte NC; eight grandchildren: Damon Laurion of Minnesota, Michele Leopold of North Carolina, Jake Laurion of Minnesota, Sarah Dickson of Texas, Danielle Witter of Arkansas, Josh Laurion of Illinois, Margret Harmon of Texas, Ben Laurion of Wisconsin; and 15 great grandchildren: Jacob, Charlie, Max, Paxton, Walker, Kaelin, Sean, Olivia, Luke, Ezra, Nora, Juda, Alice, Esme, and Atlas.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her siblings: Peggy Lynn Johnson of Wisconsin, George Johnson of Indiana, Ardith Louma of Michigan, Elaine Strom of Indiana, Kenneth (Ben) Johnson of Wisconsin; and her husband of 73 years, Kenneth Laurion.

Lois will be inurned at the Salisbury National Cemetery, in Salisbury, North Carolina, joining her husband, Kenneth Laurion.
