Obituary of Keith Edward Kelly

Keith Edward Kelly, 59, senior vice president, commercial credit lending officer for Bank of America, died March 15, 2022 at his home in Charlotte, N.C., after a short battle with lung cancer.

 

Keith and his twin brother, Kevin, were born in Norfolk, Va., on Jan. 12, 1963, to Julian Barco and Jean Copeland Kelly. Keith earned a degree in corporate finance from Dominion State University in 1987 that launched his banking career.

 

He joined Bank of America in 1998 and moved to Charlotte from Tampa four years ago.

 

Keith was a music lover and had a beautiful voice.  While living in Tampa, he was a proud member of the Tampa Oratorio Singers.  He was happy to buy a tuxedo for performances at the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church.

 

Keith met Michael Kelly 23 years ago in Tampa and were married Jan. 12, 2019 –Keith’s birthday – at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens in Ormond Beach.  

 

Additional survivors include another brother, Jeff, The Villages, Florida, twin brother, Kevin, Williamsburg, Va., one niece, Michelle Klein, three nephews, Brian, Jake and Alex Kelly, his mother-in-law, Kathy Kelly, Daytona Beach, and many friends, as well as his cat, Murphy.  He was pre-deceased by his brother, Michael.
