Obituary of Martin Anthony Opyrchal

Martin Anthony "Marty" Opyrchal, 93, of Charlotte, passed away February 10, 2022. Born January 21, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Stanley and Victoria Tomezkiwic Opyrchal. Marty was extremely patriotic and proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was known for his quick wit, kindness and unfailing devotion to his family and faith. Marty would never leave without putting a smile on your face.

 

Martin is survived by his three children: Jerry Opyrchal and his wife, Virginia, Michael Opyrchal, and Mary Ann Opyrchal; grandchildren: Elicia, Leah, Joshua, Christina, Isaac, Luke, and Justin; great grandchildren: Shadaisha, Trinity, Elijah, Noah, Jamie, Rosalie and Fern; and many more loving family and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Cratty Opyrchal; and brothers: Walter, Joseph and Henry.

 

The family will receive friends at 1:00PM with a Funeral Mass to be held at 2:00PM Friday, February 18, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Road Charlotte. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte.
