Obituary of Dale Donald Powers, Jr.

Dale Donald Powers, Jr., 75, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021. Born Thursday, October 25, 1945 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Dale, Sr. and Beatrice Graetz Powers. Dale graduated from Port Washington High School and attended Whitewater State College before serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, Dale went on the work for McLean Trucking before settling in Charlotte, NC where he worked for 18 years for Terminix until his retirement in 2013. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lynn Marie Chase Powers; son, John Powers; daughter, Lori Walrath and her husband, Jason; grandchildren: Anthony, Eric, Kiyah, and Jacob Vasquez; step-grandson, Eric Walrath; siblings: Roy Powers and his wife, Edie, Carol Whitlock and her husband, Walter, Lloyd Powers and his wife, Pat, Roger Powers and his wife, Nancy, Alan Powers and his wife, Joanie and Clyde Powers and his wife, Tessie; and many more loving family and friends. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, with a service at 4:00 p.m. at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28203, with Reverend John Harrill officiating.
