Jacquelyn Profitt

Obituary of Jacquelyn D Profitt

Jacquelyn Profitt (Jackie) passed away February 21st at the age of 69. Born in McDowell County, West Virginia, she was the oldest child of the late John and Rita David.

Jackie recently retired from BBandT/Truist bank after 24 years. She started her career with Heironimus Department Store in Roanoke, VA, in retail and eventually as a buyer before leaving to start a family. Jackie was a devoted and loving mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother. She was an avid sports fan (GO HEELS!), loved relaxing at the beach, reading, snuggling with her cat, Dixie, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandson. She was known by friends and those that loved her for her unbelievable strength, kindness, creativity and dry sense of humor.

She is survived by her two loving children, Ashley Taylor and husband, Walt, of Charlotte; Amanda Profitt of Seattle, WA; her brother, John David and Vicky Smith; her sister, Martha Warring and husband Bob, of Scottsville, VA; also her nieces, Nichole David and fiancée John Uher of Charlotte; Kelly Warring of Durham; nephew Christopher Warring and wife Sarah of Charlottesville, VA; great nephew, Nathan VanZant of Charlotte; and grandson Hayes Taylor of Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rita Halsey David Radiography Scholarship at Virginia Western Community College, named in honor of her late mother. The family will be privately celebrating Jackie’s life and legacy at a later date.
