As a cousin of Leo i had the pleasure of growing up with him first as a next door neighbor and than as a relative who celebrated birthdays and holidays in each others homes. Growing up i knew Leo as a smiling happy hard working teenager and young adult. I liked Leo. I remember when he phoned my parent's home and spoke with my late sister Paula to tell her that he met a young woman who lived down the road from us and he was in love. He was so happy. I don't know what happened to end the relationship soon thereafter. Leo struggled to find his place with family relationships and left home without telling anyone he was leaving. Leo spent years in various locations around the country. At some point Leo had a crisis and phoned his Father but the conversation was very short and not successful. Years later Leo traveled back to his boyhood home to speak with his Father only to find out that his Father had died. I got to reconnect with Leo for a period of time when he stayed with his Mother in her senior apartment. Leo and I had some relaxed conversations during this period and i found him to be a nice quiet gentle man. Leo was different in that he no longer valued material things and that life had been hard on him. Shortly thereafter he lived in his brother Paul's home for a while before leaving. I never heard from him again but I am so happy to have read that he spent his final years with a community of people who looked out for him. Leo was a very likable human being. I miss him.

Leo was a sweet and quietly gentle man. His presence here on earth will be missed by many. May he rest in peace as he has truly earned that peace. Go softly kind and loving soul.
