Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Stone Plyler
Frances Plyler, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Brighton Gardens in Charlotte.
She was born in Spartanburg, SC to Henry and Marjorie Stone. Frances was a 1948 graduate of Berryhill High School. She married Robert Plyler in 1949 in Charlotte.
After working for the Federal Reserve and other banking institutions, Frances worked as an administrative assistant for over 25 years in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. Frances also enjoyed playing golf as a long-time member of Carolina Golf Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and survived by her son Bob and his wife Jeannette, son Russ, granddaughters Adrienne (Matt) Johnson and Megan (Banks) Huntley and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Geraldine (Tom) Barton and many much loved nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful to the staff of Brighton Gardens for their loving care and comfort.
A memorial service celebrating Frances’ life will held Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Private burial will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
