Mrs. Smith was one of my favorite teachers at Smith Jr. High. School is tough for some students, at that age, and we all had a friend in Naomi Smith. She inspired the musically inclined, and also helped those who lacked a lot of innate musical talent. She was a wonderful chorus teacher.
May she rest in peace.

Mrs.Smith was an awesome teacher. She would always have a smile on her face when we walked in. She is one I'll always will remember. What a blessing she was to have and to share her love for music.

Ms. Smith was my Music Teacher from 1976-1979 @ Olympic High School! I truly loved her and honored her because she was so attentive to her students and taught us with every ounce of kindness she had within! I remember her cat passed and she was so distraught, so my classmates decided to have a dinner for her. We were in Girls Ensemble Class during 1st Period. She was so excited! All I can say is I have thought about her so much over the years and now I pray for her to have Eternal Sweet Rest! We shall Never forget You Ms. Smith! Thanks for making an imprint on my Heart!

Naomi and I grew up together in Rockingham and I have so many good memories of her and her family. She always loved music, I sang in a church quartet and Naomi was our pianist. Such a sweet person--she will be missed by many.

Naomi was so much younger than Daddy....she was his half sister....so she seemed like a cousin instead of an aunt!!! She taught me to play the piano, driving to our house on North Third Street in Albemarle. She came from Charlotte and of course would not let my parents pay her anything. She was such a caring person and we loved her very much. She and Patsy visited Mama and Daddy for years after we children were married and gone. I probably did not tell her how much I appreciated that!!! Rest in peace sweet Naomi.

What a wonderful and giving teacher we had in Ms.Smith! She followed us from Smith Junior High to Olympic HS, and went the extra mile to be sure that we could enjoy participating in musical theatre productions and concerts throughout those six years. Many of us miss those simpler days that were made so special by such devoted teachers and other school staff. Our sincere sympathy to her family and dear friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family members.
I had Ms. Smith during Jr. High at Smith and High School at Olympic. (I never missed a year) Her many years of teaching, training, helping and just being a good friend has been dear in my heart every day since.
I remember her helping me with piano, singing and guitar on weeknights at her home as well as during school. I have many fond memories of the plays we did at each school.
She will be missed and only wish we could have sung one more time..
Thank you, and rest in peace.

I am so sorry that I have been on a similar path with you lately and have not been in touch and much sorier that you are gone. We have had some good memories over the years and were the oldest of neighbors. I would not be surprised that I will be next. My best to your family. I know your sisters and nephew have taken good care of you. Rest in Peace..
