A mutual friend, Robert Dublin, was talking with Jerry the Friday before his death to arrange a lunch meeting with the three of us and I am so sorry that we did not have that time to share food and humor as Jerry was always a positive person, fun loving and had a few jokes to send us on our way. I have known Jerry for over 30 years, in particular his working with reverse mortgages for seniors. My last lunch meeting a couple of months ago , Jerry taugh me some new ideas on how to assist seniors with reverse mortgages as he was full of knowledge! So glad we shared the time together and my sincere sympathy to the family and dear friends that will miss his presence on this earth.

Mr. Thorne was a wonderful person to have join us at Regency. He was always quick to tell a joke or to just sit down and talk about how good Cam is doing. He was with our family here for just a short time but he made a positive impact on several people's lives.
What a blessing to have met Mr. Thorne. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My condolences to Jerry's family. I first met Jerry at Cub Scout meetings in his home. His mom was Den Mother. Later, I recall what an excellent athlete he was, a very competitive fellow member of the Clayton High School team. Coach Nixon would put us through intense one-on-one, head-on-head drills, Jerry running (he was quarterback) and me tackling. I was never hit harder in my high school football career as when Jerry barreled over me. Fond memories of a great guy and a great competitor.

Our many prayers and thoughts are with you all during this time. We at Regency will miss his love of spaghetti dinners, the Tar Heels, Panthers, and hearing his war stories. I'd go visit him regularly and we'd tell each other joke and joke. His sense of humor one on one, and also as he entertained many other residents, was unparalleled. I truly enjoyed getting to know him. Thank you for the opportunity to share your loved one with us.
