Obituary of Vasiliki Sitaras

Vasiliki Pribas Sitaras Mrs. Sitaras died April 18, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was born August 6, 1922, daughter of the late Georgios and Maria Drouzos Pribas in Agios Nicholaos, Evrytania, Greece. Mrs. Sitaras immigrated to the United States with her late husband John in 1967. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sitaras was preceded in death by her brothers, Meltos, Christophoros and Alex Pribas and sisters, Evanthia Sapanas and Panagiota Prentzas. Vasiliki was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral for 42 years. She was a home maker and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She had a zest for life and never met a stranger. Her greatest love was for her family, who will miss her greatly. Survivors include her sons, Nick Sitaras and his wife, Dimitra and Eleftherios Sitaras and his wife, Dimitra all of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Vickie Holevas and her husband, Jimmy and Maria Sitaras, Vickie Sitaras and John Sitaras; great grandchildren, George and Niko Holevas all of Charlotte, NC; brothers, John Pribas and his wife, Koula of Charlotte, NC and Nikos Pribas and his wife, Lambrini of Greece and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Charles Harris and his nurse Annette. Funeral service for Mrs. Sitaras will be held Tuesday, April 21, at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with the Reverend Michael Varvarelis, Reverend Efstathios Varvarelis and the Reverend Tommy Vlahos officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The Trisagion will be at the Cathedral Monday evening at 7:00 PM. Pallbearers for the service will be John T. Sitaras, Jimmy Holevas, George Pribas, John Prentzas, Dimitri Nickols and John B. Sitaras.
