Obituary of Thomas Grizzle

Mr. Thomas A. Grizzle, 66, of Charlotte, died December 7, 2012, in his home. Tom was born October 12, 1946, in Charleston, SC, the son of the late J.B. and Kathleen Grizzle. Tom is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cindy Grizzle, of Charlotte; daughter, Monica Grizzle, of Charlotte; two step-daughters, Kelly Strong and Megan Strong, both of Charlotte; brother, Paul Grizzle, and his wife Ann of Mount Pleasant, SC. Tom graduated from North Charleston High School in 1964, before earning a Master?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. Tom worked for Gaston County Dyeing Machine Company for over 20 years, and was self-employed for Thomas Engineering until his retirement. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend, and enjoyed golf and fishing. Tom was member of Holmes Avenue Baptist Church in North Charleston and attended Central Church of God in Charlotte. Tom was also a member of the Queen City Corvette Club and Clemson University Alumni IPTAY. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service Chapel, 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will be receiving friends following the service until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Charlotte, 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.
