Obituary of Robert Wilson Joiner

Mr. Joiner, 83, of Charlotte, NC, passed away in his sleep on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his residence. Bob was born May 21, 1928, in Camden, NJ to late Lewis Julian Joiner and Fannie Caroline Shepherd Joiner. He was the owner and operator of American Litho for many years and a dedicated life member of the American Legion Post 380 for fifty five years. Mr. Joiner loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his many friends at Wilmore Sundries and the American Legion. A proud veteran of the US Navy Bob served on board the USS Chuckawan AO-100. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Louis Joiner, Sr. and his friend and long-time companion, Lola Mae Helms. Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Lou Ann Joiner Wilson, Terry Lee Joiner Brown, Joseph Louis Joiner, Jr. and Robert Morton Joiner; his companion, Jean Lancaster and his extended family, Randy Helms and wife Amanda and their children and lifelong friend, James Hartis. A service to celebrate and honor his life will be held at Noon, Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the American Legion Post 380 with the Reverend Tim Aukerman officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 380, 4235 W. Tyvola Rd., Charlotte, NC 28208.
