Obituary of Jewel E. Holden

Jewel E. Holden Ms. Holden, 83, of Charlotte, NC, died, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at White Oak Manor. Jewel was born November 4, 1929, in Wake Forest, NC a daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Wall Holden. Ms. Holden Graduated from Wake Forest and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed bridge and was a life master. Jewel was employed with Western Electric in Burlington for fourteen years and retired with twenty three years of service from Belk Department stores. Survivors include her sister, Edith Fyfe of Charlotte, NC and nineteen nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 7, 2013, in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the church of the donor's choice.
