Obituary of Susan Stewart Templin

Susan Stewart Templin Mrs. Templin of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on April 8, 2013, at 96 years of age. "Susie" as she was sometimes called was born in Ironton, OH on December 26, 1916 to the late Edgar and Lorena Stewart who passed away in 1918. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, enjoying the beauty as well as the hard work of country life. She later moved to Springfield, OH, where she became a beautician and owned a salon. She married Dick Templin in 1944 and they moved to Charlotte, NC. Their only child Bob was born on December 31, 1945. In 1951, Susan embarked on a career as a realtor. She was a member of the Charlotte Board of Realtors and received many top honors, including #1 seller two years in a row. She retired in 1981. Susan had many passions in life, including gardening. She was very proud of her rose gardens and had a natural green thumb. She also enjoyed music, playing the organ, playing bridge and entertaining friends and family. Susan also had a heart for animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Richard (Dick) Templin who passed in 1998; and her son Robert (Bob) Stewart Templin who passed in 2008. She is survived by her only granddaughter, Shana Stewart Templin of Charlotte, NC. The family would like to thank the staff of Aldersgate Assisted Living and the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster for caring so well for Susan. A service of remembrance will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Carmel Presbyterian Church, 2048 Carmel Rd., Charlotte, NC 28226.
