Obituary of Patty Brown Kirby

Patty Brown Kirby Ms. Kirby, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Patty was born on April 15, 1932, in Rock Hill, SC the daughter of the late Edward and Hannah Louise Brown. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Kirby; brothers, Ludy and Bobo; sister, Helen, and son-in-law, Michael Moody. She is survived by her three children, Paige Moody, Bob Kirby and his wife, Laura, and Lisa Kirby and Gordon Saussy; grandchildren, Michael Scott Moody, Allison Moody. Kevin Kirby and Brad Kirby; sister, Jackie James of Elgin, SC and sister-in-law, Aneah Lockaby and husband, Harold of Spartanburg, SC. Patty was loved by everyone she met and had such a great outlook on life. Her lighthearted nature made everything fun and provided laughter and comfort to her family and friends over the years. The family wishes to thank Dr. Alfred Newman and staff for his compassionate care over the past five years. As well, a special thank you to the entire staff at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. A service to celebrate her wonderful life will be held 2:00 P.M, Monday, June 3, 2013 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington. Visitation will follow the service and the family will greet friends at the home of Bob and Laura Kirby. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Levine Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078.
