Obituary of Mary Ruth Severson

Mary Ruth Severson Ms. Severson, 64, of Charlotte, died Saturday, June 15, 2013. Mary was born to the late George and Anne Kessaris in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mary graduated from Myers Park High School in 1967. She received a full scholarship to East Carolina University yet attended UCLA. As a professional violist, she played with the Atlanta Symphony, Georgia Philharmonic, and Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestras. She toured with the Henry Mancini Band and played for Donny Osmond, Roger Daltry, and the Moody Blues. Mary is survived by her son, Erik Severson and wife, Kelly and her grandson, Jack of Roanoke, VA. She is also survived by siblings: Meta Ross (Derry) of Raleigh; James Kessaris (Pamela) of Hendersonville; Beverly Kessaris of Charlotte and Kenneth Kessaris (Susanne) of Rock Hill, S.C. The family will receive friends Friday evening June 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home.
