Obituary of Annie Lee Ray

Mrs. Ray, 100, of Charlotte, NC died Monday June 17, 2013, at Universal Healthcare in Concord, NC. Annie was born December 12, 1912 in Mecklenburg, County a daughter of the late Robert and Annie Elwood Lindsay. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ray. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Carolyn Harrington and Mary JoAnn Helms; sons, Ronald Edward James and Franklin D. James, Sr. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 21, 2013, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Sunset Memory Gardens.
