Obituary of Steven Dale Knight

Steven Dale Knight, 72, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Born April 9, 1951 in Midway, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joy Dale Pattison and John Morrison Knight. Steven is survived by his loving family, including his brother and sister Barbara and John, his sons Jayson, twins Charlie and Cooper, Christopher, Caleb.

Steve’s outlook on life extended far outside the boundaries of his small town, a tenacity that would see him traveling to different parts of the country and beyond. His life was marked by a vibrant spirit that led him to explore various paths, from serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War to establishing himself as a renowned photographer and co-founding a successful yoga studio in Charlotte. Steve loved to travel, going with family on trips across the United States and abroad to Europe where they would spend a week or more sightseeing, learning about local history, and forging lasting memories together. Steve's creativity and humor infused every aspect of his life, evident in his playful antics with his five sons. He liked his bacon extra crispy and took it upon himself to make the family breakfast in the mornings before school, usually in the form of alphabet-shaped pancakes.

A memorial service honoring Steven's life will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at Basket Case Farm, 6907 Walkup Road, Waxhaw, NC.
