Mary Anne Vulcano, 71, of Charlotte, NC tragically passed away while vacationing with her family on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at St. Lawrence+ Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 19, 1951; Anne was the eldest of six children. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Polly Bullock and also by her beloved brother, Michael J. Bullock who died earlier this year. Anne’s surviving immediate family include Mary (Burke) Bullock, sister-in-law and widow of Michael, Chris Bullock, brother and his wife Pam, BJ Bullock-AuClair, sister and her husband Mark, Amy Bullock, sister and her partner Gayle Stern and Susan Bullock, sister. Anne is also survived by many cousins that she cared for a great deal; many nieces and nephews and even more great nieces and nephews that she held very close to her heart. Anne was always working on the next big and exciting thing she could plan for her family, often including her friends that have become like family over the years. Anne adored her cat, Elsa. Elsa has moved in with her Aunt Amy where she will be cared for and loved. Anne was a longtime leasing broker and pioneer in the Charlotte, NC Commercial Real Estate Community. In 1984 Anne was instrumental in developing a Commercial Real Estate Unit at the Bissell Companies and ultimately became Manager of Commercial Brokerage for that firm. Anne joined CBRE in 1997 and spent many years as the top leasing broker in the Charlotte Commercial Real Estate Community. Anne retired from her position of Senior Vice President/Brokerage in 2020. Anne continued her career at Cushman and Wakefield as a Brokerage Specialist until the time of her passing. Anne Vulcano was a member and enthusiastic advocate for the Childress/Klein YMCA and CREW, Commercial Real Estate Women of Charlotte. Anne received the CREW Charlotte Impact Award in 2021 for promoting the career advancement of women in Charlotte Commercial Real Estate. CREW has just announced that they have established a national scholarship in recognition of Anne’s impact and contributions to Women in the Commercial Real Estate Community. Anne never stopped planning for the next great adventure. Her big ideas and plans required the trust of her loved ones and possibly her colleagues to help see her vision through to implementation. She was a team builder and team leader with the grit and determination to succeed. Those who loved her will miss her forever.
