Obituary of Don "Dick" Richard Koch

Don Richard “Dick” Koch, 95, died Thursday, May  23, 2018. He was born in Silver Creek, New York to the late Philip Bruno Koch and Cecile Migrath Koch.

Dick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda York Koch.

He is also survived by one son, John Koch of San Diego, CA, two daughters, Janet Koch Kruger of Chino Hills, CA, and Linda Koch Hawkes of Henderson, NV, four grandchildren, John Koch, Maddy Hawkes, Nate Hawkes and Ian Hawkes, sister-in law, Linda C. Koch, one grandson and two nieces. 

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Koch Carter, a brother, Philip Koch, and a sister, Martha Koch Asche.

Dick was a retired Navy aviator and served during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.  He moved to Charlotte in 1967 where he worked in manufacturing and later sold real estate before retiring. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 31 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Services, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC  28203.   Graveside Services will be at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, VA, on Saturday, June 2, at 2:30 pm.  The Family will be served by Oakey’s  South Chapel in Roanoke, VA.
