Rebecca Neff

Obituary of Rebecca Anne Neff

Rebecca Anne Neff passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, following a stroke.  Becky had made her home in Charlotte for the last six years and had previously lived in Florence and Tucson, Arizona and Rocky Point, Mexico.  Born in Coshocton Memorial Hospital and raised in Newcomerstown, Ohio, she was a graduate of West Lafayette High School and a former member of the Isleta United Methodist Church.  After moving out west from Ohio, Becky operated an in-home daycare, had her own phlebotomy business, and was a dental hygienist for many years.  Becky’s last job was as a manager and bartender in Florence, AZ, a job she loved because it gave her so many opportunities to talk to people.

Becky was a kind and gentle soul who loved all kinds of animals, quiet conversation, beating her Mom at Scrabble, and learning about the world around her through travel and nature shows.  She especially loved the beach, fascinated by the shells she found and energized by the warmth of the sun and the sound of the ocean.

Becky is survived by her mother, Grace Anne Hoobler, of Charlotte, NC (formerly Newcomerstown, OH) and extended family.  She is preceded in death by her father, Myron W. Hoobler.  A memorial service is being scheduled for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you consider making a donation to the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC or to Hospice of Union County.
