Obituary of Peggy Keith

Peggy M. Keith Margaret (Peggy) Rae Keith, 74, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2010. Peggy was born in Reevesville, SC on January 7, 1936 to the late Betsy R. McClain and the late Buford Ray McClain. She was very happily married to the late Dr. Fletcher G. Keith for 55 years. She is survived by her son, Robert Gary Keith of Charlotte; her daughter, Donna Rae Keith and husband Jimmy of Cornelius; and her brother Bill McClain and wife Bebe of Asheville, NC. Peggy attended Furman University. She helped her husband Fletcher start the Keith Clinic of Chiropractic in 1959, and was employed by the clinic for 50 years. Peggy also started her own accounting and real estate management company, Metro Management, and worked there for over 20 years. Peggy was also an active member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Peggy was a wonderful caring lady who was so very loved by all of her family, friends, and co-workers. She was generous beyond measure, and tried to always give and take care of those in need. She was friendly, fun, and optimistic. She had smile for everyone she met. She will be especially remembered for her love of animals, especially her dogs, Napoleon and Gretchen, and her parrots, Nikki and Beau. She loved cooking, going on family beach trips, and working in the garden. But she will be most remembered for being a devoted wife to Fletcher, and the best mother ever to Donna and Gary. Her number one priority in life was loving and taking care of her family. She will be greatly missed. The family would especially like to thank Pastor Allan at Hopewell Presbyterian Church for all of your visits, prayers, love and concern. We would also like to thank Linda Landress, a long-time family friend, who always took such good care of our mom and stayed by her side during a very difficult time. Thanks also to Dr. Powderly, you were a wonderful and caring doctor, and we know you did everything you could to help our mom. Thanks to our family and friends who were there to help out, offer support, and give mom encouragement and make her smile. The funeral service, followed by a graveside burial, will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Huntersville, NC. Visitation will be held in the Hopewell Family Life Center after the service. Pallbearers are Cooper Carter, Billy McClain, Kelly Sherrill, Charlie Siekierski, Jamie McBride, and Jesus Leyva.
