Obituary of Adelaide Harris

Adelaide Dail Harris Mrs. Harris, 85, of Charlotte and formerly of Farmville, NC, died Monday, March 30, 2009. She was born in Hookerton, NC on September 13, 1923, daughter of the late Daniel and Laney Hardy Dale. Mrs. Harris graduated from Hookerton High School and attended business school in Raleigh, NC. She was a dedicated wife and mother and was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Moore Harris. Mrs Harris was a member of Farmville United Methodist Church and a former charter member of SouthPark Christian Church. She was an avid bridge player and a dedicated wife and mother. Mrs. Harris is survived by two sons, Allen M. Harris and his wife, Ann Marie of Yanceyville, NC and Dan Harris and his wife, Melinda of Charlotte, NC; and five grandchildren, Tyler and Ashley Harris and Jason, Lauren and Allison Harris. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday in Forest Hills Cemetery in Farmville, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service in Charlotte.
