She was the last surviving member of nine children born to Marshall David Sanders and Fanny James Sanders. She was also pre-deceased by her husband, William Rhinehardt of Rock Hill. Mrs. Rhinehardt was a loving mother, aunt, sister and wife. She was generous of her time, her material goods and her heart. There was nothing she wouldn?t do for a loved one. Her infectious smile and laugh made everyone around her feel like a part of her family. Her holiday gatherings were legendary among her extended family. She was considered a second mother by her nieces and nephews. She is survived by a daughter, Laurel Johnston of Honolulu, Hawaii; two nephews, Michael A. Purkey of Fort Mill, S.C., and Jeffrey D. Purkey of Charlotte; and two nieces, Elisabeth Purkey of Belmont, N.C., and Peg Robarchek of Charlotte. A memorial service will be held August 12 at 2 p.m. at Huntersville Oaks in Huntersville, N.C.
