Obituary of Magda Maria Frosch

Magda Frosch passed away on April 17, 2023. She was 94 years old,  born on March 10, 1929 to Erhardt and Thekla Rost, in Handthal Germany. She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Frosch (Paulette) of Charlotte and Judy Lange of Waxhaw, along with one granddaughter and four great grandchildren.

Magda was preceded in death by husband Richard, who passed away in 1999. They married in 1950 and decided to make a  life in the United States in 1952. They  arrived with seventy-five dollars in their pocket, but went on to create a successful electrical engineering business. 

She was an exceptional wife and mother.  Magda cared deeply for her family, doing this not out of obligation but because of who she was.

Magda was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. One of which included gardening.  She delighted in all things green and her yard was full of flowers, all blooming continuously throughout the year. 

Throughout her long life, Magda found constant companionship with her dogs. German Shepherd was her beloved breed, which she cared for well into her eighties.

She had a variety of interests and hobbies which included sewing,  stained glass, quilting,  painting,  cooking, making jewelry and even playing Donkey Kong! Magda also loved being outside anywhere, the beach, lake, mountains and sunning in the gardens at White Oak Manor in Waxhaw.

Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses... Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.

Many thanks to the staff at White Oak Manor of Waxhaw and Novant hospital of Matthews, whose staff went consistently above and beyond to make sure her final weeks were comfortable and loving.

A visitation will be held at Hankins and Whittington funeral home, on 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte at eleven a.m. Friday, April 21. This will be followed by a graveside service at Evergreen cemetery on 4426 Central Ave. Charlotte at 1 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date at White Oak Manor in Waxhaw.
