Obituary of Martin Joseph Torok

Martin Joseph Torok, 65, of Charlotte, passed away March 17, 2023. Born December 15, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Frank and Agnes (Rashead) Torok.

After graduating from Flint Powers, Marty began his career at General Motors, before transitioning to Central Concrete, in the concrete constructions industries. After relocating to Charlotte, NC, Marty proudly worked a variety of positions for the City of Charlotte Water Utilities. Marty was well known at work for his hard work and his ability to create a fun environment, while teaching others.

Marty most enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and certainly his grandchildren. He liked to take on many projects through the years, from muscle cars and trucks to model cars and bicycles. He could always be counted on for home improvements, both his home and others!

Marty is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jane (Bueche) Torok, his two children; son Jeremie (Kristin) Torok, daughter Jessica (Adam) Augenstein, four Grandchildren; Kamrynn & Jackson Torok, Edward & Layson Augenstein. His three brothers Frank (Sandra), Phil (Marian), & Raymond (Tammy) Torok; and his three sisters; Patricia, Kathy, & Loretta. He was also a proud uncle to; Chris, Jeffrey, Johnathan, Bernadette, Rayanne, Sarah, Samantha, Tracey, Marcy & Megan.

A memorial service celebrating his life will occur in Michigan in the near future. Details will be communicated.

In lieu of flowers, Marty would have appreciated a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
