Obituary of Mary Ann Zamieroski

Mary Ann Zamieroski, 84, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Winston-Salem, NC and longtime resident of Erie, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022 after a traumatic car accident. Mary Ann demonstrated amazing strength, resiliency and grace. Born May 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Anna Kierzek. She is preceded in death by her beloved brother Teddy Kierzek and her loving husband Leonard Andrew Zamieroski.

Mary Ann is survived by her children; Michelle Vigna and husband Christopher, Lisa Zamieroski, Gary Zamieroski and wife Dr. Tamara Pottiker, and her brother Robert Kierzek and wife Shirley. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren, Justin Zamieroski, Kirk Zamieroski, Max Zamieroski, Jacob McBride and fiancé Alex Baker, Casey McBride and fiancé Isabel Duncan, Morgan McBride, Nick Vigna and Mason Vigna were loved dearly, and she devoted her life to encouraging them.

Aside from family devotion, her favorite things were growing and surrounding herself with beautiful plants and flowers, walks and sunsets on the beach, and spending time with all animals, especially her late Yorkie terrier companions, Cinders and Pepper. Wherever she went, children and animals were attracted to her. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her creations with everyone, her favorite and ours were her pumpkin and apple pies. Her other hobby was word puzzles, diligently working on them for hours. Mary Ann was always the life of the party and would light up a room with her smile and warmth. Though comforted by her rosaries and prayers in the end, she was given the strength and courage to make her final journey being surrounded by her three children. She will be missed and forever in our hearts.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. A memorial service will follow at 3pm in the funeral home chapel.
