Obituary of Patricia Lee Eatman

Patricia Lake Eatman, 87, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on November 30th, 2022. A native of Salisbury, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Rodney Lee and Mary Edna Brown Lake. After graduating from Landis High School, Pat attended Carolina Business College in Charlotte, where she was May Queen and Christmas Queen in 1953. She met her husband Wallace while there and they married the following year. Pat was a lifelong dog lover and owner. She also had an enduring interest in politics, serving as both a Kennedy Girl and as one of the Ladies for Lyndon. In 1966, she became the second woman in history of Charlotte Young Democrats Club to be president. Pat was also a member of the Democratic Woman’s Club and worked as a part-time executive secretary for the Democratic Party of Mecklenburg County. She then concentrated on raising her children until they started school. Pat was active in her church, serving in several leadership roles, and volunteered for various civic roles. She worked as a preschool teacher assistant for over 15 years before joining Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where she worked as a primary school teacher assistant until her retirement in 2007. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her much-loved husband, Wallace Eatman, to whom she was married for nearly 42 years. Pat was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Sherrie Eatman; son, David Eatman; and grandchildren Mya Eatman and Joseph Eatman.
