Obituary of Patricia Earnhardt

Patricia Earnhardt, 89, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away August 16, 2022, which would have been John & Patsy’s 70th wedding anniversary. Born March 11, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Marie West.

She is survived by her daughters: Jenny Reeder Moyer and her husband, Craig, and Betsy Earnhardt and her husband, Chris Love; three beautiful granddaughters: Victoria Reeder, Alexandra Reeder and Elizabeth Moyer; one beautiful great granddaughter, Harper Grace; and many more loving family and friends.

Patsy was an avid reader and card player. Actually, she loved playing just about any game. Probably her most favorite & best game was Mahjong. She also loved crocheting Afghans & children’s blankets, along with needlepoint & cross stitch. She was also very artistic. For years she volunteered at Presbyterian hospital. She held arts & crafts classes for the patients. Patsy was also known for her unbelievable Christmas decorations & gorgeous present wrapping. She was a woman with many talents.

John & Patsy had a vacation home on Beech mountain for 53 years that they were able to enjoy immensely. Being able to live there from May to September was such a blessing. Not only for the fantastic weather, but also for all of the wonderful friends they made.

Thank you to all of the staff at Waltonwood Cotswold for ensuring Mom’s experience in the assisted living was as comfortable and friendly as possible. We loved visiting mom there because everyone at Waltonwood was so welcoming & supportive.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Walter Earnhardt and her sister Jeanne Foster.
