Obituary of Betty Malcolm

Betty Malcolm, 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away July 16, 2022. Born August 29, 1942, in Gastonia, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Edna Parker. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband William D. Malcolm; brothers Gary Parker, Leroy Parker, Steve Parker, Henry Parker and sister Charlene HiIl. She is survived by her sons, Samuel Malcolm of Charlotte, NC, Jeffery Malcolm (Karen) of Kings Mountain, NC, and Christopher Malcolm (Amy) of Durham, NC, and 9 grandchildren; brothers David Parker (Cheryl) of Belgrade, MT, Joe Parker of Gastonia, NC, Randy Parker (Laura) of Clover, SC, Larry Parker of Gastonia, NC and sisters Gail Parker of Gastonia, NC, Dianne McAllister (Larry) of Vale, NC, and Vicky McCallister of Gastonia, NC. Betty loved spending time with her family and had the heart of a servant, spending most of her working life in the hospitality industry. She also ran her own ceramic business, painting and firing most of her own pieces. Services will be held at Davis Memorial Baptist Church, 3358 Robinwood Road, Gastonia, NC on July 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. Services are under the direction of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203.
