Callen Phillips

Obituary of Callen Anne Phillips

Our beloved Callen Anne Phillips passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 13th at the age of 26. She was born on July 25th, 1995 in Atlanta, GA and was most recently living in Sandy Springs. She was a graduate of Ben Franklin Academy in Atlanta and had been a student at Piedmont College and later Georgia Perimeter College.

Callen never met a stranger, and she never kept a smile to herself. She will be remembered for her compassion and kindness toward others. She always surrounded herself with friends and family with whom she felt the most comfortable and loved. She was adored by all who knew her.

She never took herself too seriously and was completely authentic with everyone she met. You always knew the moment Callen walked into a room because you could feel her joyful presence. She never judged anyone and supported her friends through both their brightest and darkest moments.

Callen saw beauty and potential in everything―anyone who was blessed to know her may recall the day she and her roommate converted a cracked old tree trunk into a mystical fairy garden.

An extremely creative individual, Callen didn’t take fashion cues from anyone with her quirky sense of style. She also channeled that creativity into poetry and was a brilliant artist.

Callen was a passionate animal lover and was the doting and loving pet mom to her chihuahua, Willow, who brought her much joy and was her constant companion. She was most recently working in a Veterinary Clinic in Dunwoody, where she enjoyed working with both the human and animal clients. It brought her great joy to be in a situation where she could help animals in need.

Callen once remarked, “Remember to try to live and breathe mindfully each day on this beautiful earth. We’re forever blessed.” While she is now at rest, we can all keep her spirit alive in our memories and in our hearts.

Callen is survived by her mother, Susan Phillips, and her father, Jerry Phillips (JamieLynne Weiss), and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
