Obituary of Peggy Louise Hanna Simpson

Peggy Louise Hanna Simpson, 83, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born on December 18, 1938, in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Mack Pearson and Zuba Lee Boyd Hanna.

Peggy graduated from Frank L. Ashley High School and started working at Firestone. She worked for many years at Equitable Insurance in Human Resources.

Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren. She was their “Peg Peg”. Singing in the church choir was also a passion in her life.

Peggy is survived by her children: Lisa Hood and her husband, Mark, Sharon Davis and her husband, Barry, and Stephanie Grady and her husband, Scott; grandchildren: James Davis and wife, Lisa, Jack Hood, Brad Hood, Dalton Grady, Lindsey Grady; great-grandson Mason Davis; and many more family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Murdoch Simpson, Jr., her sister, Linda Hanna Deal, brothers, Harold Hanna and Bobby Hanna.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.
