Obituary of Joyce Brooks Robinson

Joyce Brooks Robinson, 92, of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 with family by her side. Services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM with a service to begin at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

Joyce was born November 12, 1929, to the late Rufus Clifton and Bryte Thompson Brooks. She was a native Charlottean, and a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1947. Joyce was a strong Christian and dedicated member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1956. For her service in the Methodist Church she was recognized with the Laity Service Award in August 2015. Joyce found much joy in serving her community and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children: William "Clif" Robinson and wife, Diane, of Albemarle, Cynthia "Cindy" Caskey and her husband, Bill, of Matthews, and sister Joan Brooks Tobar of Albemarle; five grandchildren: Shane M. Robinson, Sherry L. Adcock, Kelly L. Kimrey, Seth W. Caskey and Joya A. Caskey; and seven great-grandchildren: James M. Robinson, Anna, Helen and Madeline Adcock, Nathan and Jaxon Kimrey and Kyngston Caskey; and many more loving family and friends.
