Obituary of Oscar Andrew Gatlin

Oscar Andrew "Drew" Gatlin, Jr., 74, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021. A native Charlottean, Drew was born Tuesday, July 1, 1947, to the late Oscar, Sr. and Daphne Roddey Gatlin. He graduated from CPCC with an Associate’s degree and went on to follow his passion in graphic design. Drew was truly an artist and spent his whole life producing beautiful art. Upon retirement, he spent years continuing to create art including unique paintings and sculptures.

A loving son, brother and uncle, Drew is survived by his brother, Roddey Williams "Rod" Gatlin and his wife, Linda; sister, Deborah Ann "Debbie" Schiappa and her husband, Salvatore; nephews: Louis and Andrew; great nephews: Henry and Charles; great niece: Elizabeth; and many more loving family and friends.

Drew was a founding member of "The Son's of the Night, "The Mystery 5" and "The Church of the Little Dog Under the House".

He will be greatly missed.
