Obituary of Helen Gerdilia Broome

Helen Gerdilia Williams Broome, 77 years old of Charlotte, passed away on August 4, 2021. Helen was born in Charlotte, NC on October 16, 1943 to the late James and Thelma Alexander Williams.

Helen was a caregiver, who took care of her own. She liked to fish and listen to music and spent her last couple of years surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa L. Paxton; her brothers, James Williams, Jr., Tommy Williams, Bobby Williams and Dickie Williams. She is survived by her children, Michael Paxton and his wife Andrea, Troy Paxton, Rachelle Sherard and her husband Wayne, Cynthia Franks and her husband Harley and Tina Paxton; her sisters, Yvonne Ewing and her husband Jim and Gloria Black and her husband Raymond; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday August 9, 2021 from 10:30-11:00am at the funeral home with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11am in the Hankins and Whittington Chapel.
