Beckett Weinert

Obituary of Beckett Martin Weinert

Beckett Martin Philip Weinert was called home by our Lord on May 11, 2021. Born October 26, 2019, Beckett is the youngest of Peter and Stephanie Weinert’s five children. During his short time with his family, Beckett loved music, especially listening to Dierks Bentley and singing homemade songs with his siblings, eating bacon and pickles, swinging in the hammock, hugging his family, blowing kisses to everyone, and taking naps on mommy’s shoulder. In addition to his devoted parents, Beckett is survived by his older siblings, Mark, Luke, Garrett, and Grace, his grandparents Steve & Karen Wood and Philip & Elaine Weinert, his godparents Dave & Anne Richardson, 22 aunts and uncles, 23 cousins, and many more loving extended family members. All are welcome to the Votive Mass of the Holy Angels celebrated in Beckett’s honor Thursday, May 20, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church on Park Road, Charlotte, as well as to the reception immediately following in the Parish Hall. His burial, attended by family and close friends, will take place at Belmont Abbey Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Beckett’s parents cannot express the depth of their gratitude to the multitude of family, friends, and even complete strangers who formed a mighty army of prayer warriors on his behalf throughout his difficult life journey. The parish community of St. Ann, led by Father Tim Reid, will forever be cherished for their loving support and many sacrifices on Beckett’s behalf. Beckett and his family are especially grateful to Jenna and Kristi for providing him such tender and patient therapy. His parents also wish to thank the doctors, nurses, and technicians of Levine Children’s Hospital PICU/CVICU for their tireless efforts and expert care. Additional thanks are due to Judy, Brice, and the staff from Be Not Afraid, and to Emma from Hankins & Whittington, for all they have done for Beckett and his family. For anyone who would like to donate, in lieu of flowers the Weinert family asks you to consider a donation in Beckett’s name to Holy Angels (www.HolyAngelsNC.org), MiraVia (www.MiraVia.org), or Be Not Afraid (www.BeNotAfraid.net).
