Obituary of Margaret Allen Wood

Margaret Allen Wood left this Earth for her heavenly home on April 19, 2021.  She was born in Chester, SC to late Charlie Cleo Allen and Mary Wilson Allen on December 26, 1926.

Margaret attended school in Charlotte and graduated from Harding High School.  She enjoyed working in the real estate and insurance business for several years.

Margaret was known for her compassionate heart and caregiving skills and her sense of humor.  Her home was always open to family and extended family when they needed tender loving care.  Margaret’s family will tell you she was a prayer warrior for them spending many sleepless nights lifting up each one to the Father.

In spite of the fact that she suffered from Myasthenia Gravis for many years, she was able to cope with this disease and be helpful to others.  This was made possible through her strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, good doctors, and prayers of friends and loved ones.

Margaret was a long time member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. She loved her Pritchard family, especially her Maranatha Sunday School Class.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Charles Lankford Wood on June 18, 2011 after 61 years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughter, Lydia Wood Powers and her husband Tony; her grandson Matthew Powers and his wife Hannah and great grandchildren whom she cherished , Everly Joy, Mason Henry and Ruby Margaret Powers.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 21, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Morrow and Rev. Stan Heiser officiating.
