Obituary of Alfred D. Adcock, Jr.

Alfred D. Adcock, 88, passed away on February 20, 2021 after an extended illness. A.D., as he was always called, was the second of five children born to the late Alfred D. Adcock, Sr. and Lonie Ayscue Adcock on August 9, 1932 in Henderson, NC.

A.D. served in the army in Germany for two years in the 50s.

In 1952, Alfred married Marjorie Hawley and they were blessed with 69 years together.

A.D. worked 34 years for Patton’s Inc. in Charlotte and retired in 1997.

A.D. is survived by his wife, Marjorie, children Vicki A. Massey and her husband Vernon and Heidi A. Cline; one grandson, Ethan Andrew Massey; his sister Joyce Paul and numerous nieces and nephews.. A.D. was predeceased by his siblings Lucille Gray, Wilbur Adcock, and Betsy Barnes.
