Roberta Wolfman

Obituary of Roberta Wolfman

Roberta "Bert" Wolfman, 86, of Charlotte, North Carolina, loving wife, mother, grandmother, mentor and best friend to many, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born Tuesday, February 13, 1934, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Francis Zaentz. Bert graduated from Montclair State University with a History degree. She was extremely intelligent and worldly and was athletic in her youth, playing volleyball. She married the love of her life, the late Louis "Lou" Wolfman on January 9, 1955, and together they owned and operated United Hardware Bloomfield, NJ and Cheers Restaurant and Nightclub South Hackensack, NJ. She was very handy and could fix almost anything. Bert was known for her honesty - she had no filter - and would take the shirt off her back for anyone, having so much love to give and would give you a hug even if she didn't know you. You always felt welcome in her home. She enjoyed traveling, painting, cooking, entertaining and spending time with friends and family.

Bert is survived by her son, Barry Wolfman and his wife, Cheri; daughter, Ilene Goldberg and her husband, Mitch; son, Paul Wolfman; and grandchildren: Erin Wolfman May, Alyssa Wolfman Lothae, Rebecca Wolfman, Nicole Wolfman Galinsky, Stephanie Goldberg and Zachary Goldberg; and many more loving family and friends.
