Obituary of Gerald Carl Sienkiewicz

Gerald Carl "Jerry" Sienkiewicz, 74, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Born Friday, September 6, 1946 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edward Carl and Blanche Orzel Sienkiewicz. Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and went on to become a Design Engineer and Manager with IBM for most of his career. When not working, he still enjoyed tinkering with mechanics and wood-working; however, most of all, Jerry was a dedicated husband and father who loved spending time with his family every chance he got.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine Burke Sienkiewicz; son, Jerome Edward "Jerry" Sienkiewicz and his wife, Stacey; sister, Carol Ann Duffy; and many more loving family and friends who will miss him dearly. 

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his younger son, Brian Patrick Sienkiewicz.

A small private service will be held at St Matthew Catholic Church on Thursday, December 17th at 1pm, and Jerry’s inurnment will be at the Columbarium at St Matthews, along with his son, Brian.
