Obituary of Earline Elizabeth Suddreth Whitener

Earline Elizabeth Suddreth Whitener, 92, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away June 19, 2020. Born January 16, 1928, in Burke, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Suddreth. Earline enjoyed baking, raising her granddaughter and spending time with her family. She was a spit-fire, never holding back and telling it like it was. She was a loving wife and an avid dog lover. 

Earline is survived by her daughter, Mary Hightower; grandchildren, Donna Hightower, Coday Hill and his wife, Erika, and Terry Hill and his wife, Santana; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Taylor, Corey Hardin and his wife, Kourtney, Christopher Hill, Anali Bustos, Briana Zaguilan, Ciera Hill, Elijah Hill, Sannyah Hill, Elijah Hill, Latavia Hill and Lamarcus Hill; great great grandchildren, Amari Pagan, Keimorah Hardin, Alijah Pagan, Kaydin Hardin, Legand Pagan and Kassidy Hardin; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Earline was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Mutt" Whitener.

"God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come with Me". With tearful eyes I watched you suffer, and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, He only takes the best. A million times I think of you, a million times I've cried. If love alone could have saved you, you would have never died. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still. In my heart you had a special place. No one will ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For most of me went with you, that day God took you home."
