I knew Henry Hirschmann during his time living at Brookdale Carriage Club Providence ... all I can say is what a sweet, sweet man.
In meeting him you would NEVER know the horrific events of his life living through the Holocaust. He knew the story well, having lived it, and
yet in many ways it was "behind him" ...he remembered but didn't live in it. He was always kind to me, a gentleman in every sense of the word.
When I left full time security he wanted to give me something, that was Henry's heart, but he never seemed to remember or manifest something,
but that was ok with me. I could not hesitate after learning of his passing to write something about this incredible life. I can only hope to be
remembered one iota of what Henry is in the memories of MANY people both Jewish and Christian... he made an indelible impact. To his family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss, I know that you know what a man of character your father was. I sit here writing this with tears in my eyes
know what a man he was. Rest in peace Henry. You are and were loved my brother!

Henry went on one of our WWII tours in 2015. He was such a pleasant gentleman, and one who has not been forgotten. His name seems to always pop-up when I am in Europe with another tour. What he did in the war was so unique, that he will not be forgotten on any of the tours we do in the future. My regards to the family and just to let them know their dad/granddad was an incredible gentleman.

Many, many thanks to Henry for his service to our country at such a pivotal time in history. It was an honor to meet him and a joy to meet Paul, June, and Adina. Even when Henry was most sick, he never complained! What a gentle, grateful, dear soul. He left this world a better place.

Dear Hirschmann Family--I had the extreme honor first to learn about Henry's life from his dear friend and mine, Jesse Oxendine, and then to hear him speak at the Duke Mansion a few years ago. Almost everything I know about World War II I know from these two great men. The same is true for many hundreds of erstwhile school children in the Charlotte area who heard these two WWII veterans speak in an effort to make sure that we never forget- and importantly, that we heard the story from participants. The life story of Henry Hirschmann almost defies belief and belongs on a motion picture screen. Steven Spielberg would be interested to hear Henry's story- with all seriousness and respect. It must be the fondest wish of so many that Henry is now reunited with his lost family after being without them nearly all of his life. May Jesse and others who went before have them waiting to greet him. Rest in peace, dear Henry. Kim Fox

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. & Mrs. Hirschmann when I planned their daughters wedding at the Registry Hotel many years ago. I still have the beautiful gift they gave to me. They both kept up with my theatre career and were kind to attend some of them. Blanche and Henry both were very kind and loving and had a sense of humor. Rest in peace Henry.

We first met Henry at Brookdale Carriage Club when he was a resident there. We had many meals with him in the dining room and dearly loved him. Such a sweet man to be around. We truly missed him when he moved. We shall never forget him.
He was always wanting to know if I had Munz family in Germany,
