I first met Margaret years ago when I worked as a cashier at Giant Genie Food Store, a neighborhood family-owned grocery store. I met her through her daughter Chris who worked as a cashier and her son John who worked as a manager. Margaret was a regular customer and always found the time to chat with me which I enjoyed because I'm a chatter too! Years later, we became family and we enjoyed family celebrations and holidays together. I recall one Thanksgiving in particular that was hosted at my house. Margaret asked me if she could bring one of her famous pies. I was so excited to try one of her pies because her daughter-in-law, Lynn Theobald (my sister-in-law), went on and on about how delicious they were! When they all arrived, I went outside to greet them. The last thing I expected to see was Margaret coming down the sidewalk shouting, "I DROPPED THE PIE, I DROPPED THE PIE! IT'S ALL OVER YOUR DRIVEWAY!" I was so disappointed! Not because we weren't getting any pie, but because she was disappointed that she had worked so hard on it and was eager to have us all enjoy it, but all her hard work ended up on the driveway!
Margaret was always kind to me when we saw each other rather it be the grocery store, family celebrations or most recently Brighten Gardens. I just wanted to let her family know they are in my thoughts and prayers.

My brother and I danced with Gran at his wedding while the band rocked out to "Sweet Caroline." It was so much fun to see Gran jamming along to a pop song. She had 3 glow sticks around her neck and one she was wearing as a headband. It was such a beautifully happy time for all of us and I'll never forget how wonderful her smile was on that night.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who knew and loved Margaret. It has been such a blessing to have had her in all of our lives. She will be sorely missed.

Aunty Margaret was a truly brave person travelling thousands of miles from a country and home she loved with a young husband to live in Canada. She had a full and busy life bringing up her three children, entertaining her friends and of course playing golf! She never forgot her roots and always kept in touch with her parents, weekly by letter.and her brother and sister. 63fA8Quite regularly she would bring the family over to England for a summer holiday. So we in England got to know Margaret quite well. She was a lovely person. She loved to chat and we never had a dull moment when she was around. Lots of love and rest in peace. Never forgotten xxx

Margaret was an amazing lady of grace. She was my late mother's dear friend for 25 years and what a loyal friend she was. Margaret was always interesting to talk to. She loved her family and her dear friends with tenacity. She was fashionable and sociable and she will be dearly missed.

The last time we visited Gran in her apartment, she told us multiple stories about moving to Canada from England. It was fun to hear about the different places she lived and some of the adventures she had in those places. We could tell she enjoyed reminiscing on her younger years - she smiled and laughed a lot!

Aunty Margaret was one of the funniest, endearing and kindest of people. We had such happy times together sharing many family stories. Her love of England was never ending and never forgotten. She would arrive at my house and say she had come home. I loved Aunty Margaret so much . We giggled and shared many happy memories. She will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in peace beautiful lady and please say hi to my mum for me. Xxxxx
